I'm currently training towards being able to run l3s in something. I'm just trying to figure out what that 'something' should be! I like frigs, mainly because everything for them is cheap , and I've heard about people doing l3s in assault frigs. Can this really be done? What about Stealth Bombers, could they do l3s? How much dps is enough for a l3? And how much tank?

I didn't really want to train up for a battlecruiser, nor medium weapons. But is that my only option?

I was looking at the contracts and most of the gistii b-type afterburners were not that expensive, so I was going to put one of those on w/e frig I went with. But would the Drake be that much faster running l3s? It seems to be a bit slow, so moving to gates, I would think, would be a bit of a pain. Not to mention it is quite a bit more expensive to buy and fit...

that doesn't sound very exciting. Well, compared to ice mining all day long it does, but compared to your description of the stealth bomber....or the Retribution.
Ok so I'm not doing the Drake, What about range in the frigs? I've read about ships staying well outside of attack range. I know the stealth bomber can shoot way out there, but what about the Retribution? And what about the other assault frigs? And which stealth bomber would be the 'best' for missions?

Just found EFT, and since I am gallente, what about a Ishkur with railguns and hobgoblins? the rail guns have great range and it can do almost 200 dps with antimatter charges loaded!

I think I'm gonna give the rail Ishkur a shot first. I like drones as well, and it seems to be able to do a lot of dps! something like
lows
small t2 repper
t2 armor hardener
t2 energized adaptive nano membrane
Gistii B-type 1mn afterburner
cap recharger t2
cap recharger t2
125mm t2 rail gun
125mm t2 rail run
125mm t2 rail gun
and when I get the hang of doing missions with it I'll add 2 capacitor control circuit rigs to it.
